One of my resolutions is to work out redemptively. To acknowledge that my body is not my own, but that it belongs to Christ and His body. I pray that God remind me of that truth.

God has been generous to me in this area, especially considering that I come from the Village with Matt Chandler and I have many other great men to admire. God hasn't gifted me with any super ability to preach, but he has given me two great things: 1) a community that loves me, my awkwardness, my heart for them and my heart for Jesus and 2) God has kept me from going through the emotional dependence of highs and lows that come with preaching well vs. bad, or big audience vs. small audience. God has been generous and our community has as well.

thats a good thougth. looking good cant take u to heaven. lets look at the history of pharoah. agood looking man with an evil heart of enslavement. what shall it profit u to loose the weight and still loose the kingdom of God? thanks

At Soma on Sunday night we looked back on 2008, and looked forward to 2009 with prayers very similar to your heart above bro. We are trying desperately to help our community understand how the gospel fills every area of their lives. It is just so counter, so much more than what so many think the gospel to be.
